• Edward James 0 — I really liked this song a lot. One thing I realized through this playlist is that (and I think this is fair) a lot of people saw songs reflecting on loss as "yearning". Which I just don't. It's very very similar but the specific reality/context from which they sing impacts it in certain ways imo. My votes don't perfectly reflect this, but I was biased against songs that were about loss.

I should like them more than I do, and this song was great. But it didn't stand out to me for the category, especially against some of the others.

• fionmul 0 — I’m overall disappointed in yall like I think there could have been some more subtlety to these submissions. I’m saying this in this comment since it’s the last song. This felt like slightly heavier fallout boy and I just didn’t like the song very much.

And indeed it’s an excellent choice, because I love this song and I absolutely love this album. There are several songs on this album that I like more than this one and it’s beat out by a few other songs on this playlist, and I feel somewhat compelled to rate more highly songs that were altogether new to me. But for getting one of my favorite deep cut albums (seriously, these guys never made another record) this gets a vote. 4️⃣

• Brad Stalcup +1 — A phenomenal song. A bluegrass singer who has been performing for probably 50 years at this point. A serenade to death would definitely take place in a FO'C story

I'll be calling them out where I see them, and I don't see one here.
