  • fionmul +2Assuming she doesn't already know this, this is both musically and lyrically perf. (Shea is this u??)
  • Joseph Harvey +1Thanks Brad, this was great
  • Regina Scime +1
  • judd.baker +1
  • Edward James +1The Arcadian Wild are quintessential Shea music to me.
  • Claire 0Combo of vaguely spiritual lyrics and indie folk pop vibes—feels almost too on the nose so it didn’t make my podium though I considered it
  • shea nowicki 0Lyrics, vibe, even the album cover art... all of it felt immensely right. I wish I had more votes!!!
A Heart In New York - Live at Central Park, New York, NY - September 19, 1981Simon & Garfunkelfionmul

fionmul: Shea is in her window seat weeping as the NY skyline sparkles in the night sky.

  • Spicey Riche +2
  • Claire +1Trying not to let myself be unduly swayed by the comment, but I do see the vision here
  • Regina Scime +1
  • judd.baker +1Props for outside the box interpretation
  • fionmul 0idk if y'all knew of Shea's love for NY. She also likes S&G. This live version is so special. Also I just have to say, my aunt Lorraine was at this concert (possibly also my Uncle Henry and Aunt Rosemary).
  • shea nowicki 0HAHA, I love this. I love NY (the land of milk and honey IRL) and Simon and Garfunkel are my faves so the live version was 100/10. Stellar submission.
  • Edward James 0Beautiful. Maybe my number five.

  • Joseph Harvey +1The other tearjerker on here. No idea if Shea likes country, but this works for me
  • Claire +1I liked this, and more importantly I’d imagine Shea would, musically and lyrically (and I’m not just saying that bc I also submitted a song about a family member dying)
  • shea nowicki +1The only song I'd heard before and I think the one that mastered my sound best. This song gets me dancing no matter what and would honestly probably be the soundtrack for the montage of my junior year at Benedictine 🥹 very good mems!
  • Regina Scime +1
  • Edward James +1Every time I hear Zach Bryan, I realize more that he’s actually a real artist. I feel like Shea would love this, can’t confirm, but I feel it.
  • fionmul 0I think she probably already knows this but I do think this is a good ZB pick for Shea. I don't think it's her submission though. I think ZB is adjacent of "Shea would love" territory.
  • judd.baker 0My favorite of this list by far, and I think Shea would probably dig

  • SamRobertsND +3This got me at 6:15AM on the way to work--why would you do this to me, Peter? This is such a good album, Alison Krauss is one of the best to ever do it.

  • Joseph Harvey +1This is heartbreaking and gorgeous. Definitely teared up. I really hope Shea likes this.
  • fionmul 0Moses vibes? Wasn't feeling this overall
  • Edward James 0Pleasant
  • shea nowicki -1The lyrics to this are beautiful! I really appreciate a Moses reference... poses the question why we don't have more songs about various moments in the Pentateuch?! ... The whole spiritual maternity theme, entrustment to the Heart of God... I think this gets to my spirituality/ministerial dream best of everything on the list. I feel so seen; thank you!! I've long been trepidatious about this round because I don't want to have to downvote anything!!! In the end, only downvoting this because of its sound not being my most fave. But please don't perceive it as a dislike of the song in the slightest; I'm so grateful you submitted it and so excited to pray more with it!!!

  • SamRobertsND +1Man I really loved this one. Of the explicitly religious songs, this is the best
  • shea nowicki +1This is SO fun and I love a St. Francis reference. I especially loved the bridge ("You're everything," yes yes)!!! Brother Moon is IN this summer... you all heard it here first.
  • Peter Seeley +1Musically interesting.
  • fionmul 0Lyrically this is good; Franciscan and faith filled which is not particular to Shea but I can see this touching her and her liking the repetition at the end. Ultimately not strong enough in this lineup.
  • Claire 0Notwithstanding the fact that I myself have submitted a song by this artist—I just did not like this very much. But maybe Shea will?
  • Edward James 0I know this makes me a bad person but this is a bit too earnest for me

  • shea nowicki +1This one had me dancing all the way through... it feels like the opening song of a really good, feel-good movie. Adding to all my playlists!!

  • fionmul 0This is cool but it isn't strong enough in this batch

  • Claire +1Alexcore but perhaps at the intersection of Sheacore and Alexcore
  • shea nowicki +1Oh yeah... this is the stuff. Vibed the whole way through. Great pull!!!
  • Edward James +1Alex is the only one who understands Shea-core. This is spiritually aligned with Astrovan and prior Shea bangers.
  • fionmul 0Musically this is a cute one but idk if she would find the lyrics impressive enough with this competition
  • SamRobertsND 0Get a new artist besides the same 5 mid string bands you post, Alex
  • Joseph Harvey 0Cute

Regina Scime: “I want to dance with the saints and angels”🥹

  • fionmul +1Can defs see her liking this and praying with it, especially the twist (it's not a race. you're free!). And I find it pleasant melodically. This is a more surface level/stereotypical Shea category but an intentional pick within that.
  • Joseph Harvey +1This kind of music is not for me. But I have a feeling Shea would like.
  • Peter Seeley +1I don't like the style but the singers voice is actually quite good.
  • SamRobertsND 0Sorry, Fiona, not gonna cut it. Ironic: you have longed for this round more than most, yet you post dreck in main. Do better.
  • shea nowicki 0OH wow, so beautiful! There's no fear in love! Need to pray more with these lyrics immediately!!! So grateful you submitted this!
  • Edward James 0FOCUS….album? 🤨

  • SamRobertsND 0Shea strikes me as a Napoleon Dynamite enjoyer, Eddie, so she's probably heard this before.
  • shea nowicki 0Cry!! This song is very tender. Evidences the beauty of friendship and makes me think of all of you and countless others with great gratitude. "Great is my inheritance" remains the prayer of my life!
  • fionmul -1There are a couple I think she may have heard before but this seems like the one that is most commonly known and least likely to be her submission. And I find it the laziest submission for that reason (Darcy's Donkey was also on my chopping block I will say)
  • Joseph Harvey -1Sorry I just don’t like this at all. Perhaps I’m getting too tripped up on my own tastes
  • Claire -1There’s no way she doesn’t know this one
  • judd.baker -1I can’t imagine that Shea has never heard this song before, and it also seems extremely generic

  • Edward James +1I like it. I imagine Shea will like it. Can’t exactly explain why.
  • fionmul 0This is vocally a Lizzy lookalike or maybe Phoebe Bridgers. This song is cool and I am interested to hear what Shea thinks
  • Joseph Harvey 0Surprisingly heavy! Sick
  • shea nowicki 0This felt like a really cool mix of Gracie Abrams/Lizzy McAlpine/Olivia Rodrigo... my melancholic side vibed!!! Additionally, I'm OBSESSED with Abby's vibe (I wasn't familiar with her until listening to this song, but can confirm have done a deep dive of her Instagram now hahaha)
  • Peter Seeley -1I'm not ok either

  • judd.baker +1Apparently the popular interpretation of Sheacore is “agonizingly nostalgic”
  • fionmul 0Not hitting me as a Shea vibe enough for a vote, but I like the voice and instrumental. I think I will check this guy out!
  • Joseph Harvey 0I enjoyed this!
  • Claire 0This was pleasant
  • shea nowicki 0I really enjoyed this, most especially the softness of the sound and slight country twang! Adding to my playlists immediately!

  • Edward James 0Idk on this one. Not doubting it necessarily, literally IDK

  • Claire +110/10 would listen to this at an Irish pub with Shea
  • fionmul 0This is fun but I find it more like a song everyone in the chat would find fun and amusing vs Shea specifically
  • Joseph Harvey 0I don’t think of Shea’s music as overly Irish
  • shea nowicki 0Thank you for submitting this - there's no way you would have known this, but my beloved Irish grandma passed away in January and this song is 1000% her vibe. Brings me right back to the St. Patrick's Day parties of my youth... literally the best day of the whole year. Adding to my March 17th playlist for next year hehe.
  • Edward James 0Fun but not in the top

  • fionmul +1Shea and I were both praying and talking about fragrance during Holy Week <3 She may know this or this may be her? Or maybe neither. But I think she would like this.
  • Joseph Harvey 0Other P&W here seems more Shea specific to me
  • judd.baker 0Overtly religious feels like too easy for this round and I also immensely disliked this for some reason
  • ared56 -1

  • Edward James -1Uninspired, sorry
