If it had more religious imagery I could see it fitting, but it's just a good narrative. It just sounds and feels like Flannery to me although the story isn’t perfect. Claire 0 — Is the idea that Claire was going to sin, but her murder was a weird sort of mercy that kept her from going through with it? Maybe, but that doesn’t feel like that’s the point of the song, it feels more like a straight up southern murder song to me
